Las Colinas Elementary School Reviews

I went to Las Colinas for 5 years. The school has a good enviorment and they never give to much homework. The school is clean and the staff are great. There are lots of extra- curriculum activities. The language classes are great. There is a big playground and plenty of space to run in. The gifted and talented programs started to fall in 07-08 but then IB started I I think the school will become better. The only problem is the principle who we never liked. Other wise, the school is great.

Splendid all-around neighborhood school with great teachers, awesome administrators and involved parents. These kids are blessed to be at Las Colinas Elementary!

LCE is a wonderful school! My children spent two years here. The academic program here is excellent. Quality work is expected from the students beginning in Kindergarten. Spanish and science are taught in regular studies even in Kindergarten. The principal is respected, hands-on to the students, readily visible and approachable. The teaching staff are experienced and caring. There is not a better or more friendly office staff. The cultural mix of students is great and rounds out a true school family. LCE has a very active and productive PTA. My kids learned how to learn at LCE.

I am very happy with the teachers.I think the person who is sitting in the front desk has no business to be rude to the parents or the chidren. The first impression due to her behavior is really deprimental for the school.

Very community driven school with lots of close feedback to parents.

I am from New Olreans, La. due to hurricane Katrina and had a 5 and 10 yr. old at LCE for 2 semesters. LCE is a great school with a wonderful academic program for both of my kids. The staff at the front office are the kindest people I have ever met and they love doing their jobs. They greet you with a smile everytime you walk into the office. The principal is a great leader and is very involved with the 'hands on' day to day activities. I have never seen her in her office. As a matter of fact, I don't even know where her office is located. The parental involvement is great at LCE. I have never seen a school with such high enrollment in the PTA. If I were to remain in Texas I would definitely keep my children in LCE!

The enthusiasm for kids and the high teacher involvement make this a very special school. The principal is very hands on and has made sure the school has art, music, Spanish and PE available to the kids. The atmosphere is upbeat and happy and the PTA is award winning for their great projects and their enthusiastic involvement with the school. Teachers are out in the parking lots greeting kids as they arrive - calling them each by name. Every time I have lunch with my daughter there are always a lot of other parents there too. One down fall might be a lack of computers ---- every class has several, but they are not state of the art. The office staff is great to work with and very interested in the kids. It's a real pleasure to take my daughter there to school each day.

Great School!!! Everything from staff to other parents is great!

Las Colinas has wonderful teachers that are very committed. Teachers really care about the students. The principal is wonderful with the students and parents and easy to talk to. I can't say enough good things about this school!
