Located in Dallas' Historic West End, the West End Pub, formerly known as the neighborhood pub without a neighborhood, has been a Dallas tradition for 20 years. The New York Style pub has a fantastic view of the Downtown Dallas skyline and a relaxed friendly atmosphere making the Pub "the" place to meet friends after work, start a night out, enjoy an after dinner drink with great live local music on Friday and Saturday nights, or just grab a bite to eat and watch a game. The West End Pub boasts an extensive selection of single malt scotches and imported cigars, excellent for after dinner relaxing or celebrating the big deal being signed. It is the only legal smoke-friendly pub in the West End. They welcome business travelers and tourists like regulars. Stop in to the West End Pub and you'll quickly make a friend or two.

Tips

  • When to Go
Weekday happy hour is 4pm-7pm. Out late? Go around 11pm--the pub is only one of three West End sites that stays open late.
  • What to Drink
Besides a collection of 17 single-malt scotches, the bartender serves the West End Punch, a blend of rums, fresh juices, lemonade and melon liqueur.

I work close by and love going to this place. They have free Hor d ourves for happy hour. Its the best and most comfortable place to have a cocktail downtown that i can think of.

Pros: downtown pubby feel

Cons: havent found one yet

nice attractive bar

the bar was nicely located. The sandwiches were microwaved and not at all appealing. There was not enough meat to fill the large bread. I was disappointed that it was rated the best sandwich in dallas 2008. It may have won since this is the only restaurant in dallas where smoking is allowed. go there for the bar and not the food.

What a blast!

I live Downtown and have MANY choices on places to go and we choose the West End Pub. We choose it because everybody REALLY does know your name, there hasn't been a time when we have gone in that the owner or waitress hasn't come up as soon as we walk in and say hi. It's like being a movie star :) I love going to a place that takes such pride in customer service. They have a fantastic happy hour and the drinks are not only a great price, but a great drink if you know what I mean. My boyfriend is a margarita pro and I am pleased to say that he chooses the west End Pub over the MANY mexican restaurant choices we have for a margarita in Downtown. They also have a FREE buffett for happy hour with food that we BOTH like. I really have NOTHING bad to say about this place. Try the couch by the window if there is a open seat, it's also a great place to people watch. They have a HUGE seating area that you don't see in this picture so go with 20 of your best friends, they can accomodate you in a heartbeat! Yeah West end pub! We LOVE YOU GUYS!

Pros: THE BEST Place in Downtown AND the West end!

Cons: none! not a one!

Friendliest Bar and Best Margarita's and Martini's
Reviewed by pubcrawler75202 on 2008-05-13T14:00:20Z

The West End Pub is my favorite bar to hang out in after work. I felt this way the first time I went to the pub, right after I moved to Dallas. I went in not knowing anyone and soon found out the people at the Pub don't let you be alone for long. The bartender and the "regulars" at the bar include everyone at the bar in their conversations and make it point to learn your name, where your from and when you will back (the bartenders even remember what you drink). It is just that friendly. On top of being friendly, their margaritas and martini's are the best. The bartender says the margarita's are made from scratch, no premade mix here. They even fresh squeeze the lime juice. Then there are the martini's...they are huge and in a glass that is always cold. Try the PUBTINI...it's one of my favorites. If you have a group of people just wanting to kick back, they have "living rooms" with big. comfy leather couches and chairs. Its a great place to meet up with your friends and hang out.

Pros: Drink sizes are big; People and staff are very friendly; Comfortable and Unpretentious

Cons: Can get loud at times

I stumbled across this establishment years ago and immediately enjoyed the welcoming atmosphere. As a scotch drinker, I found the selection to be impressive and the staff very knowledgeable (I wonder how they got so experienced?). But, the great thing about this pub is that's only one of its features. Whether your a sports fan (free shuttle to the Stars/Mavs games at the AAC) or a music fan (same free shuttle for music and other shows) and live music of a great variety on weekends; a smoker (imported cigar selections) or a non-smoker (electrostatic smoke control devices throughout the Pub); or just like a comfortable atmosphere for eating (the Pub fare is simple but well-prepared), reading, visiting, or lounging (great! leather sofas and chairs in "the living room"), this place seems to fit the bill. Go! Enjoy!

Pros: Great Scotches

Cons: It can get loud
