Darlene Collins

My inspiration comes from Vincent Van Gogh and his brilliant use of color.  My work is considered SoulFul.  I want to leave my viewer with an impact on their heart.  I work with a limited color palette:  Primaries plus black and white.  My intense color is created through a layering process.  Many people watching me paint are in awe from the beginning process to my completion of a painting.

I recieved my B.F.A. in 1986 at Northeast Louisiana University.  I completed Art Teachers Certification in 1990 after the birth of my second daughter.  I continued my real world education through teaching students art in public school.  I finally took the leap in 2005 as Full-Time Professional Artist.
